BRADY TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 15, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brady Township Planning Commission was held on November 15, 2007 commencing at 7:30 p.m.

Members present: Chairman Gary Miller

                              Kathy Guthrie

                              Ed Haberle

                              Jan Becker

                              Randy Smith

Absent: Mike Henderson.                                                                                               

Also attending: No others.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Ed Haberle made a motion to approve the minutes of September 20, 2007 as published. Kathy Guthrie supported, and the motion was carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS: Land Use Plan Review

Randy Smith has prepared and distributed to the Planning Commissioners an amended Land Use Plan, incorporating the changes made at the last Planning Commission Meeting. The members of the Planning Commission went over the 23-page document.

Randy stated that the most significant change in the updated Land Use Plan is the redefining of the high, low, and medium dwelling unit densities on page 21.

Randy will contact Cindy Chapman at South County Sewer and Water Authority to obtain the date the sewer was completed and add this information on pages 12 and 23 of this document.

A decision was made to change the title of table 5 on page 11 to “Building Permits for New Homes” and to start the table at the year 1990. Kathy Guthrie agreed to get the data for this table for the years 1995 through 2000.

Kathy Guthrie agreed to obtain a more current source date from the Kalamazoo County Planning Department for table 6 on page 16 (Estimated Existing Land Use).

A copy of the proposed Land Use Plan has been recently sent to the Township Attorney, and his input is needed before any further action can be taken.

Kathy Guthrie made a motion to table further action on the proposed Land Use Plan until the February 2008 meeting. Jan Becker seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.

 The Planning Commission members will again review the proposed text changes at the February meeting. A Public Hearing will be scheduled for public review of the proposed Land Use Plan prior to adoption.

NEW BUSINESS: New Vice-Chairman

Kathy Guthrie made a motion to appoint Randy Smith as the new vice-chairman, to replace Todd Weddon. Ed Haberle seconded and the motion was carried unanimously

 REPORTS

Kathy Guthrie reported that the Township Board has had no new business to report this month. She reported on the extension of the Sprinkle Road sewer project.

CITIZEN TIME

None.

Kathy Guthrie made a motion to adjourn at 8:35 p.m. Jan Becker seconded and the motion was carried unanimously.

The next regular Planning Commission Meeting is scheduled for February 21, 2008 at 7:30 p.m.
