APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ed Haberle made a motion to approve the minutes of May 17, 2007 as published. Jan Becker supported, and the motion was carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS: Dock Lengths
There was a request from the Township Board to change the maximum length of a dock from 100’ to 200’. Township Attorney Craig Rolfe advised in correspondence that the DNR sets and enforces the dock lengths. Supervisor Lee Philport reported on dock length information he has gathered from several neighboring townships in Kalamazoo County and compared these to the Brady Township Ordinance concerning dock length. He stated that he feels our current dock length ordinance is a good one and should not be changed. After much discussion, Todd Weddon made a motion to advise the Brady Township Board that the Planning Commission would like to keep the current ordinance for dock length as it is. Jan Becker supported, and the motion was carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: Land Use Plan Review
Randy Smith has prepared and distributed to the Planning Commissioners an amended Land Use Plan. He has updated 1990 statistics with 2000 statistics from the US Census Bureau. He has also updated the land use plan with Brady Township developments: the sewer district; the R-5 zoning category; the increase in acreage from 50 acres to 250 acres at the Nazarene Campground. The members of the Planning Commission went over the 24-page document, considering Randy’s changes and adding their own.
Randy agreed to prepare a new proposed text for the Land Use Plan, incorporating all changes made by the Planning Commission members this evening. The Township Attorney will be given a copy to review before the next meeting. The Planning Commission members will again review the proposed text changes at the November meeting. A Public Hearing will be scheduled for public review of the proposed Land Use Plan prior to adoption.
The members of the Planning Commission thanked Randy Smith for all of the work he has done on the Land Use Plan review and preparation.

Todd Weddon announced that he will be resigning his position on the Planning Commission and that this will be his last meeting.
