BRADY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
November 13, 2007
Members Present: Supervisor Philport, Clerk Vermeulen, Treasurer Allgaier and Trustees Guthrie and VanderKamp.
Others Present: Approximately 35 others.
Call to Order and Pledge: Philport called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. at the Brady Township Hall. VanderKamp gave the invocation. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
** Agenda Approval: The Agenda was as printed, by a motion from Vermeulen and seconded by VanderKamp. Motion Carried.
** Approval of Consent Agenda: The consent agenda was approved by a motion from Vermeulen and seconded by Guthrie. Motion Carried.

c. Approval of Disbursements and Transfers

Motion Carried.

SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS:
** A. Federal Poverty Guide Lines: Philport explained the Federal Poverty Guide Lines. A motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by Allgaier to adopt these guidelines. Motion Carried.
** B. Resolution Allowing Sale of Alcoholic Beverages: Philport explained the reason for this resolution due to State Liquor Commission regulations. A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Allgaier to adopt this Resolution. A roll call vote brought YES votes from Philport, Vermeulen, VanderKamp, Guthrie, and Allgaier. Resolution Adopted.
** C. Household Hazardous Waste Contract: Vermeulen updated on the annual contract we have with the County for HHH Waste. A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by VanderKamp to approve this contract for 2007. Motion Carried.
D. South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority Update: Philport gave an update on the 911 dispatching at County. Kal Co was the 1st Michigan County to adopt a countywide 911 dispatch.
He also reported on retirements of previous fire fighters.
E. South County Sewer & Water Authority Update: Repairs are being done at lift stations, and we received updates on the US 131 corridor sewer project through Schoolcraft.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business: Allgaier presented a draft copy of an Employee Manual she has created for a Township Governance Academy project. She requested that each Board member review it and make recommendations on it for adoption at the December meeting.
Report of Board Members: Allgaier said she is preparing tax bills to be delivered by December 1st. Vermeulen reported on the 17% turnout for the KRESA election last week. She also said that Clerks across the State are waiting to see if the January 15th Presidential Primary will actually take place, due to a court ruling last week. She also stated that we will be doing interviews for a new part-time front office person.
** Adjournment: With there being no further business, a motion was made at 8:07 P.M. by Guthrie and seconded by Allgaier to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.
