BRADY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING


May 01, 2007


Members Present: Supervisor Philport, Clerk Vermeulen, and Trustees Vander Kamp and Guthrie.

Absent: Treasurer Allgaier.


Others Present: 1 other.


Call to Order and Pledge: The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. at the Brady Township Hall by Philport. The invocation and was given by VanderKamp. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.


**        Agenda Approval: The Agenda was approved by a motion from Guthrie and seconded by VanderKamp. Motion Carried.

 

**        Approval of Consent Agenda: The consent agenda was approved by a motion from Guthrie and seconded by Vermeulen. Motion Carried.

 

a. Approval of the minutes of the 4/03/07 Regular meeting.

b. Approval of Disbursements and Transfers

c. Communications

SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS:

 

**        A.        Hall Mowing & Grounds Bids: Mowing bids were reviewed. A Motion was made by Philport and seconded by Guthrie to award the mowing, Spring cleanup and maintenance of the Township Hall lawns to Lawn Perfect for $27 per mow, and the two cemeteries to Randy Richardson for $43 and $47 per mow. Motion Carried


**        B.        Risk and Records Management: Vermeulen presented info on imaging of vital documents of the Township. A Motion was made by Philport and seconded by Vermeulen to contact Risk and Records Management for more info and costs. Motion Carried.

 

           C.        Road Projects for 2007: Philport updated on our projects of 32nd St. from U to V Ave, for $78,519, TU Township line to Sprinkle Rd. for $5,792, and dust control for approximately $10,000. This will be covered by our budget and Par funds. Remove clay & wedge, single chip seal 30th for $16,000? Or 2008?


           D.        South County Sewer & Water Authority Update: Philport reported that they are studying the main on Sprinkle Rd, and that Schoolcraft Township and Village are working with Portage on possible future sewers.

           

E.        South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority Update: Philport on a major fire in Schoolcraft yesterday, and that the ambulance service is bringing its finances more current. He also said that KATS would have a Public Hearing at the Kal Public Library on 5/29/07 on the 2030 transportation plan.

Report of Board Members: VanderKamp reported on the pavilion that Rotary built at Schoolcraft Township Hall this past weekend. Guthrie reported on the applications received for County Treasurer. Vermeulen reminded everyone of the election on May 8th. Philport reported that we supported the HHHW program in Schoolcraft this weekend by disposing one of our old computer monitors in it.


**        Adjournment: With there being no further business, a motion was made at 8:35 P.M. by Philport and seconded by VanderKamp to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.
