BRADY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
April 5, 2005
Members Present: Supervisor Philport, Clerk Vermeulen, and Trustee Guthrie. Absent: Treasurer Allgaier and Trustee Vander Kamp.
Others Present: 3 others.
Call to Order and Pledge: The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. at the Brady Township Hall by Supervisor Philport. The Invocation was given by Philport. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
** Agenda Approval: The Agenda was approved as printed, with the addition of A.a to add KCSD quarterly report by a motion from Philport and seconded by Guthrie. Motion Carried.
** Minutes Approval: A motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by Vermeulen to approve the minutes of the 3/23/05 Special meeting. Motion Carried.
** Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurers report was unavailable, and the budget was the same as the one approved at the Annual Meeting. A motion from Philport and seconded by Guthrie was made to approve this budget report. Motion Carried.
Communications: None.
** Disbursements and Transfers: A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Guthrie to approve payment of the bills as presented. Motion Carried.

SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS:
A.a KCSD Quarterly Report: Captain Green from the KCSD presented the report for the first quarter 2005, and updated us on current problems county wide.
A. Publish Request for Bids for lawn mowing: Supervisor Philport will publish for bids for lawn mowing at the Hall and at both cemeteries.
**B. Approve Road Projects for 2005: Discussion was held on the bids for 33rd and 31st streets. After much discussion, a motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by Vermeulen to approve the contract for dust control only at this time. Motion Carried. Philport will get updated bids from the KCRC on the above two roads, and a decision will be made at the May meeting.
**C. Approve Fire Authority Budget The proposed budget for the South Kal. County Fire Authority was presented. After discussion, a motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Guthrie to approve this budget. Motion Carried.
**D. Appoint Representative to Vicksburg District Library Board: A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Guthrie to appoint Charles Ocvirek as a representative to the Vicksburg District Library Board. Motion Carried.
E. Set Meeting with KCRC: The KCRC has requested a meeting with our Board for May 10 at 6:45 p.m. just before our regular May meeting. We will post for this.
**F. Set Holiday Closings for 2005-2006: A motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by Philport to set the Holiday Hall closings for 2005-2006 to be 5/30/05, 7/04/05, 9/05/05, 11/24/05, 11/25/05, 12/26/05, 1/02/06, and 4/14/06. Motion carried.
**G. Set Office Staff Wages for 2005-2006: Vermeulen proposed increasing the three office staff personnel wages by a minimum of 3% or $.50, whichever is greater. A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Guthrie to increase the three office staff by $.50 each, effective April 1, 2005. Motion Carried.
H. South County Sewer & Water authority Update: Philport updated on current happenings.
I. South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority Update: see item C above.

Report of Board Members: Vermeulen reported that there will be elections on May 3, and August 2 this year.
** Adjournment: With there being no further business, a motion was made at 9:30 P.M. by Guthrie and seconded by Vermeulen to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.
