BRADY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
January 3, 2006
Members Present: Clerk Vermeulen, Treasurer Allgaier, and Trustees Vander Kamp and Guthrie. Absent: Supervisor Philport.
Others Present: Approximately 14 others.
Call to Order and Pledge: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. at the Brady Township Hall by Clerk Vermeulen. Due to the absence of the Supervisor, Vermeulen appointed Guthrie to be the moderator for the meeting. The Invocation was given by Vermeulen. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
** Agenda Approval: The Agenda was approved as printed, by a motion from Vermeulen and seconded by Vander Kamp. Motion Carried.
. ** Approval of Consent Agenda: The consent agenda was approved as follows, by a motion from Vermeulen and seconded by Allgaier:
a. Approval of the minutes of the 12/06/05 regular meeting.
b. Approval of Treasurer’s and Budget reports.
c. Communications
d. Approval of disbursements and transfers as presented.
Motion Carried.
Citizens Time: Captain Green from the KCSD updated us on current local issues, such as a future jail millage, status of meth lab activity, etc.
SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS:
**A. Re-appoint P/C & ZBA Members: A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Allgaier to appoint Mike Henderson to the Planning Commission, and James Dyke, Aileen Greanya, and Kevin Allgaier to the ZBA and Joe Timko as an alternate member to the ZBA. Motion Carried.
**B. Walk for Warmth Resolution: Vermeulen presented a resolution for the 13th Walk for Warmth. A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Guthrie to adopt this resolution. A roll call vote brought the following YES votes: Allgaier, Guthrie, Vermeulen, and Vander Kamp. Absent: Philport. Resolution Adopted.
**C. Additional Education for Treasurer – Scholarship: Allgaier explained an additional education class she is requesting to attend. This is the Treasurers Certified Public Finance Administrator course. The fees to attend this class would be well above the budgeted amount for Treasurer Education and Training. After discussion, a motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by Vander Kamp not to appropriate additional funds to the budget for this. It was recommended that alternate funding be sought, such as scholarships if available. Motion Carried.
D. South County Sewer & Water Authority Update: No report.
E. South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority Update: No report.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business: Vermeulen reported on upcoming MTA Educational Conference.
Report of Board Members: Vermeulen reported that there will not be a February election this year, but there will be May, August and November elections.
**Adjournment: With there being no further business, a motion was made at 7:45 P.M. by Vermeulen and seconded by Vander Kamp to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.
