BRADY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING


January 2, 2008




Members Present: Supervisor Philport, Clerk Vermeulen, Treasurer Allgaier and Trustee Guthrie. Absent: Trustee VanderKamp.


Others Present: No others present.


Call to Order and Pledge: Philport called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. at the Brady Township Hall. Philport gave the invocation. This was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.


**        Agenda Approval: The Agenda was approved as printed, by a motion from Vermeulen and seconded by VanderKamp. Motion Carried.

 

**        Approval of Consent Agenda: The consent agenda was approved by a motion from Guthrie and seconded by Allgaier. Motion Carried.

 

a.  Approval of 12/04/07 Regular meeting minutes.

b.  Approval of Budget Report

c. Approval of Disbursements and Transfers

d. Communications

Citizens Time: None.


SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS:


 

**          A.        Federal Poverty Guide Lines: Philport updated on the Federal Poverty Guide Lines. Last month we adopted these, but now we need to add the $15,000 per person asset level test. A motion was made by Philport and seconded by Vermeulen to adopt this asset level test. Motion Carried.

 

**          B.        Approve Fire Authority Audit: Philport presented the audit for the Fire Authority. A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by VanderKamp to approve this audit. Motion Carried.


**          C.        Employee Handbook: Allgaier updated on the handbook. Everyone on the Board has reviewed it and recommendations have been made. A motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by Vermeulen to adopt this handbook. Motion Carried.

 

            D.        South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority Update: Philport said they are working on the budget, which will be similar to this year. They are also looking at moving the headquarters to the Ambulance building to share costs. Runs are beginning to balance out.


E.        South County Sewer & Water Authority Update: Philport reported that there will be a meeting next week. There will also be informational meetings soon covering the proposed Schoolcraft corridor sewer project.

Report of Board Members: Guthrie updated on the recent Planning Commission meeting, that the land use plan is being updated. Philport stated that Todd Weddon has resigned from the Planning Commission and needs to be replaced. Vermeulen reported on the upcoming Presidential Primary election on 1/15/08.


**          Adjournment: With there being no further business, a motion was made at 8:05 P.M. by Vermeulen and seconded by Allgaier to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.
