BRADY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING
September 2, 2008
Members Present: Supervisor Philport, Clerk Vermeulen, Treasurer Allgaier, and Trustees Guthrie and VanderKamp.
Others Present: None.
Call to Order and Pledge: Philport called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. at the Brady Township Hall.
** Agenda Approval: The Agenda was approved as printed, by a motion from Guthrie and seconded by VanderKamp. Motion Carried.
** Approval of Consent Agenda: The Consent Agenda was approved with the removal of item 4, by a motion, from Vermeulen and seconded by VanderKamp.
1. Approval of 8/12/08 Regular meeting minutes.
2. Approval of Budget Report
3. Approval of Disbursements and Transfers
Motion carried.
4. Communications. Vermeulen read a letter of resignation from Kevin Allgaier from the ZBA to be effective immediately. A motion was made by Philport and seconded by Vermeulen to accept this resignation, and to send him a letter accepting this with regrets. Motion Carried.

SCHEDULED AGENDA ITEMS:
** A. Approve Final Audit Report: After review of the final audit a motion was made by Vermeulen to approve it, seconded by VanderKamp. Motion Carried.
B. Fiscal Review from Dept of Treasury: Philport updated on the importance of the score that was received by the Township. This score should mean that there is no need for the State Assessors office to require an audit.
** C. KCRC – WX Ave & Culvert Contract Update: Philport updated on this KCRC project. A motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by Allgaier to approve this at a cost of $5,040.12. Motion Carried.
** D. Refund of ZBA fee for Izenbaard: Due to an error on figuring coverage totals, it was decided that the Variance request that the Izenbaards had was unnecessary. A motion was made by Guthrie and seconded by VanderKamp to refund the $250 fee that they paid. Motion Carried.
E. KATS Report for KCTA Millage: Philport updated on the millage that will be on the November ballot.
F. South County Fire Authority Update & Audit Report: Philport reported they are working on the 1st responder vehicles. They have purchased the Schoolcraft fire station for $160,000 on a 20 year contract.
G. South County Sewer & Water Authority Update: Philport reported that they are still trying to work with Portage. There will be a two year look back again this year.
Unfinished Business:. None
** New Business: Allgaier reported that the gates at the Jenkinson cemetery are in need of repair. A motion was made by Vermeulen and seconded by VanderKamp to have her follow up on this for future repairs. Motion Carried.
Report of Board Members: Allgaier reported that there has been a change in personnel at SCMCCI. She requested that they not staff our office for the month of September due to shortage of personnel. She will fill in for them here if needed. She also reminded that tax bills are due on September 15th. It was also announced that she received her CPFA and plaque last month. Philport reported that there would be a rezoning request at the Planning Commission meeting on 9/18/08, followed by a possible Special Exception Use request.
** Adjournment: With there being no further business, a motion was made at 8:20 P.M. by VanderKamp and seconded by Vermeulen to adjourn the meeting. Motion Carried.
